Hey everyone! Well I really disappeared there for awhile, huh? Big things have been happening all summer, and I’m so excited for what fall has to bring.

I’m happy to announce that Lovebird Wedding Photography has been rebranded, rerouted and refreshed. It is now just Shaena Mallett Weddings.

And here’s a new website to prove it!
I’d love for you to take a look at www.shaenamallettweddings.com

I was so happy to kick off kicked of my 2012 season last weekend with a really lovely wedding! It was a very intimate, sweet country wedding on an old farm in Chapel Hill, a lovely couple, a beautiful day, a big thunderstorm, and there was even a fabulous bluegrass band. What a wonderful way to start the year in photos! More to come soon ♥

I recently had the pleasure of taking some photos of Brooks Ann Camper, a couture dress maker in Hillsborough, North Carolina. Brooks Ann and her custom dresses are so sweet! I had so much fun snapping some portraits and charming little details around her sewing studio.

You can learn more about her couture dresses online at www.brooksann.com

happy tuesday!

I had the great pleasure of photographing a fabulous local couture dressmaker, Brooks Ann Camper. What a wonderful art form. My grandmother was a seamstress, my mother sewed many of the childhood clothes in my family (think ruffled tiny farm-y dresses and corduroy overalls), and my oldest sister is a fashion designer, so I have always had huge admiration for folks with a talent for fashion arts. I’ll put photos from the shoot on the blog tomorrow!

That’s right folks, I’ve been playing with a photobooth set up that will be available for weddings and parties! More details coming soon

Hope everyone’s year is off to a fabulous start!

Love,
Shaena

What do you get when you combine goats, two artists, a bluegrass band, a DIY attitude, a table full of pies, and beautiful late fall day? Answer; Ben and Marianne’s wedding! It was such a sweet celebration of family, creativity and southern soul, and I just can’t help but to share a TON of photos from the day! Marianne, a seamstress and artist, made her own dress, bouquet and knit wrap, as well as all of the party favors; jams and jellies that she canned herself. She also works as an artisan cheesemaker at Celebrity Dairy, and made the very goat cheese that everyone enjoyed at the reception! Ben, a musician and luthier (he has his own company making old-fashioned guitars) rounded up some of the best bluegrass musicians in the country, including mandolinist Tony Williamson, to play and get everyone’s toes tapping. He even made one of the guitars that was picking out the bluegrass tunes all night. Another super cool detail was the old fashioned soda bottles that Ben and Marianne found in the woods of their farm (that’s right, they are starting a small farm together out in Siler City. Cool, right?). I don’t think it get’s more DIY than that. I am so thankful to have been a part of their amazing day!

I’m still recovering from a christmas marathon, ohio and kentucky style.

hope everyone out there has been spending time with family, relaxing, and celebrating the end of 2011 in style.

Can’t wait to share more from Ben and Marianne’s sweet, sweet country out at Celebrity Dairy in Siler City a few weeks ago. Soon!
